Meredith Begins USA South "Pennies for a Purpose" Collection

Raleigh, N.C. - In an effort to help worthy organizations during the spring semester, the USA South Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) developed, "Pennies for a Purpose", in 2008. This community service initiative, in its fifth year, began February 28th. The schools have until March 31st to collect loose change which would later be donated to the Special Olympics.

This Spring Meredith's student-athletes will send all of their money collected to the Raleigh Special Olympics. On Thursday March 15, Meredith will be receiving money from food purchased at Zoe's Kitchen in Cameron Village.  We want to encourage all the athletes, staff, families and friends to go out and eat at Zoe's on March 15. There will also be donation buckets up in the Belk dining hall and a team fundraising competition.  Please bring your loose change and any donations to athletic events this month or drop them off in the athletics office.
