Rahn Named to NCCSIA All-State College Division Basketball Second Team

 

Salisbury, N.C. - The North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association (NCCSIA) announced its selections for the 2010-11 College Division All-State Women's Basketball Team on Tuesday.  Nominees were submitted by North Carolina sports information professionals.  NCCSIA members voted for the all-state teams.  Teams are selected for men and women in both the college and university (NCAA Division I) divisions.

Meredith's Megan Rahn was named to the second team.  Rahn led Meredith in scoring and rebounds as she averaged 19.5 points and 9.5 rebounds per game.  She had 12 double-doubles on the season and surpassed the 1,000 career points mark on Feb. 6, 2011 and is currently the seventh highest scorer in school history.  As of the Feb. 20 national rankings, she is 20th in points per game, 33rd in double doubles and 77th in the nation in rebounds per game.

Founded in 2002, The North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association (NCCSIA) is comprised of sports information professionals from NCAA Division I, II, III, NAIA and independent institutions from the state of North Carolina.  The purpose of the organization is to promote collegiate athletics at all schools.  Membership is open to anyone affiliated with a college, university or conference located in North Carolina, and whose area of responsibility lies within sports information.

NCSSIA selects all-state teams in the University (Division I) and College (Division II, III, NAIA) divisions for men's and women's basketball, men's and women's soccer, volleyball, softball and baseball.
