Basketball Downs Barber-Scotia, Rahn Moves to Fourth on Meredith Scoring List
Raleigh, N.C. - The Meredith basketball team completed their home schedule before the holiday break as Barber-Scotia visited on Tuesday for a mid-day game. The Avenging Angels defeated the Lady Sabers 81-67. Megan Rahn moved to fourth on the all time Meredith scoring list as she scored 31 points to move to 1,253 career points. Rahn passes Jennifer Norris (2000-04) who had 1,252.
Meredith (3-3) jumped out early on Barber-Scotia (3-12) and never let the Lady Sabers take the lead. The Avenging Angels pushed the lead to as many 18 multiple times in the first half and Meredith held the 47-29 halftime lead. The second half saw Barber-Scotia get to as close as ten points, but Meredith never let them get any closer.
Meredith was led by Rahn with a double-double of 31 points and 10 rebounds. Bryana Holmes had 14 points and seven rebounds. Brittany Baker had 10 points and five rebounds. Barber-Scotia was led by Lindsay Lee with 16 points and 16 rebounds.
Meredith returns to action after the holidays as the head to Montgomery, Ala. to face Rhodes College and Birmingham Southern College on December 29 and 30.
