Volleyball Opens Season With Win

Raleigh, N.C. - The Meredith volleyball team started the season on the road as the Avenging Angels headed across town to take on Johnson & Wales on a neutral court at Peace College.  Meredith took the match 3-1.

The Avenging Angels lost a close first set 25-23 and stormed back to take the next three easily 25-14, 25-10 and 25-11.  

Meredith was led by Cori Spade with 16 kills and 18 digs.  Molly Markley was key at the net with six blocks to go with 15 kills.  MaryBeth Finegan and Emily Anderson pulled up 20 and 16 digs, respectively.

Meredith next travels to Baltimore on Friday and Saturday to take on Johns Hopkins, DeSales, Goucher and CCNY.
