Buena Vista, Va. - The Meredith volleyball team traveled to Southern Virginia University on Wednesday night. The Knights defeated the Avenging Angels 3-1 (25-20, 19-25, 26-24, 25-10).
The Avenging Angels (13-8) were led by Cori Spade with 16 kills and 16 digs. Molly Markley added nine kills and a block. Kara Baughman and Clarke Glendenning both had 17 assists to lead the Angels. MaryBeth Finegan was the top digger with 27.
Southern Virginia (10-6) held the advantage on blocks leading 11 to three.
Meredith returns to action on Thursday as they continue their non-conference road trip at Roanoke for a 6 p.m. match.
