New SAAC Officers Emerge
RALEIGH, N.C. - The Meredith College Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) selected the slate of officers for the 2013-2014 academic year. After a two-year commitment as SAAC President, graduating senior softball player Sara Cranford passed her post to rising junior soccer member Megan Amanatides.

Meredith Hosts Athletic Banquet
RALEIGH, N.C. - The Meredith College Athletic Department hosted the annual awards banquet Wednesday, April 24, to celebrate the 2012-2013 accomplishments of the seven Avenging Angel teams and all student-athlete participants. Athletics Director Jackie Myers recognized the 63 student-athletes who earned at least a 3.0 grade point average during the 2012 calendar year, including eight named to the Vice-President's Club for earning a perfect 4.0.

Athletics Annual Golf Classic a Success
RALEIGH, N.C. - The 15th Annual Meredith College Golf Classic was held Monday, April 8, at North Raleigh's Wildwood Green Golf Club. More than 70 golfers registered in support of Meredith athletics and enjoyed a warm spring day at the links.

Meredith SAAC Donates "Pennies for a Purpose" Collection to Relay for Life
FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - The Avenging Angel Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) will donate monies collected during the USA South's "Pennies for a Purpose" campaign to Meredith's Relay for Life team. The conference SAAC established this community service initiative in 2008 in an effort to raise money for local organizations during the spring semester.

USA South "Cans Across the Conference" Results
FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - The Meredith College Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) collected 338 cans of non-perishable food this fall as part of the USA South's "Cans Across the Conference" competition. The group will donate the food to Meredith's "The Daisy Trade Too," a campus service group supporting Meredith students and families in need.

NEW ORLEANS, La. - Senior cross country runner Morgan Youd garnered NCAA Division III All-Region honors as announced Monday from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association headquarters. The Association recognized nearly 560 student-athletes after the eight regional championships held over the weekend.

Harriers Complete Season at Regional Championships
HAMPTON, Ga. - The Meredith College cross country squad ended the 2012 season with a solid finish at today's NCAA Division III South/Southeast Regional Championships. Senior Avenging Angel Morgan Youd finished 35th among the 184 individual runners.

Cross Country Headed to NCAA Regional Championships
RALEIGH, N.C. - The Meredith Cross Country team will head to the NCAA South/Southeast Regional Championship meet this weekend in Hampton, Georgia. The top seven Avenging Angel harriers will compete in the 6,000 meter race at Nash Farm Battlefield beginning at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 10.

PLEASANT GARDEN, N.C. - The Meredith College harriers claimed the second spot in today's USA South Cross Country Championships held at Hagan Stone Park. Senior Avenging Angel Morgan Youd earned the program's highest individual finish of fifth place with a time of 24:44.82.

Meredith Harriers Take on 6K Race to Prep for USA South
NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - The young Meredith cross country team joined 16 other collegiate runners in today's Christopher Newport Invitational in the first 6K race of the season for the Avenging Angels. Meredith secured a 13th place overall and 10th among Division III schools.

CARY, N.C. - The Meredith cross country team competed in Friday's Great American Cross Country Festival at the WakeMed Soccer Park as well as the Greensboro Invitational at Hagan Stone Park Saturday afternoon. The team split into two groups and finished strong at both events.

Third Place Finish for Cross Country
WILMINGTON, N.C. - The Meredith Cross Country squad captured a third place finish in today's Seahawk Invitational hosted by UNC-Wilmington. The Angels (107) followed behind leader East Carolina (15) and host UNCW (45) to claim the top spot among the Division III schools.
