Field Hockey rolls past Southern Virginia

Buena Vista, Va. - The Meredith field hockey program steam rolled Southern Virginia University 10-0 Saturday afternoon where they saw five different Angels score goals.

"I'm so proud of this group for pulling out their first ever road win," head coach Colleen Cassada stated. "Many received their first collegiate points today and Shae-Lynn getting her first shut out this season. It was a great team effort."

Junior Shae-Lynn Henderson only had to earn one save in the shutout as the Angels dominated the entire match. Meredith produced 48 total shots with 23 being on goal.

The party got started just four minutes into the contest as sophomore Cambria Chandler found the back of the net to give the Angels the lead off an assist from fellow sophomore Jordan Brooks. That was one of five goals in the first half for the Angels. Chandler totaled two goals and three assists on the night.

Freshman Megan Ingenito led the Angel attack with five goals and two assists. The freshman trio of Charlotte Dyer, Catie Horn, and Molly Click all picked up goals while sophomore Sierra Grande and senior Bella Allen earned an assist each.

Meredith will be right back in action on Monday when they host Southern Virginia at 3:30 p.m.
