Bundy Makes History with Meredith’s Best NCAA Cross Country Finish

SPARTANBURG, S.C. — Meredith College junior Delaney Bundy capped off a standout season with an impressive performance at the 2025 NCAA Division III Cross Country National Championships, held at the Roger Milliken XC Course in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Racing against the deepest field in the nation, Bundy crossed the line in 22:42.6 over the challenging 6,000-meter layout, earning an 85th-place national finish.

Bundy's race showcased her trademark toughness and consistency as she navigated a fast early pace and a crowded championship pack. Her top-100 finish highlights a season filled with breakthroughs and solidifies her standing as one of the top runners in both the USA South and the South Region.

Head Coach Field Miller on the day, "Delaney had an incredible season and put it all together on the day. One of the most patient races I've seen from her, she was methodical and did not waver in the face of the best in the nation. Her execution of moving forward in the field with a blistering fast early pace spoke volumes of the progress she has made. I couldn't be any prouder of what she accomplished today."

The championships featured a deep and competitive field, with NYU claiming the overall team title.

Bundy's performance marks another milestone for Meredith College Cross Country as she became the second Avenging Angel to race at the National Championships. 85th now becomes the highest finishing Avenging Angel in program history.
