LYNCHBURG, VA. | Meredith Tennis fought hard but fell 6-1 to Lynchburg on Saturday. Kate Jackson secured the lone set victory for the Avenging Angels in #5 singles. She beat Reese McAtee (2-6, 6-1, 10-8).

INSIDE THE MATCH:

• Lynchburg won all three doubles matches and took the doubles point.
• In singles, Meredith battled hard against Lynchburg's strong lineup. Claire Southern won four games in her match, but ultimately lost to Maria Caro 6-3, 6-1, while Cate Reilly also won four games in #2 singles but fell 6-3, 6-1 to Kayla Kosiorek.
• Hannah Jo Jablonski picked up three games in the loss to Ashley Hair 6-2, 6-1, and Anna Bittler took six games in the 6-4, 6-2 loss to Harper Dodd.
• Kate Jackson delivered the highlight of the day for Meredith, winning a dramatic three-set match. After losing the first set 2-6, Jackson bounced back to win 6-1 in the second and then triumphed 10-8 in the tiebreaker, earning Meredith's only point of the match.
• Lynchburg won the final singles match by default.
