RALEIGH, N.C. – The Meredith College tennis team hosted NCAA Division II opponent Belmont Abbey College on a beautiful, sunny Friday afternoon in Raleigh. The Avenging Angels battled throughout the lineup, with freshman, Molly Zuburg highlighting the day by earning a singles victory in a 6–1 team result.

Belmont Abbey secured the early advantage by sweeping the doubles matches. In singles play, the Crusaders maintained pressure across the top of the lineup, but the Avenging Angels found their breakthrough at No. 5 singles.  Zuburg delivered Meredith's highlight performance of the afternoon, earning a hard-fought 6-3, 7-6 victory in a competitive match that featured a tight second-set tiebreak.

Meredith will take a short break during spring break before returning to action Tuesday, March 24, when the Avenging Angels host Methodist University in Raleigh.
