ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. – The Avenging Angels tennis team hit the road Tuesday afternoon for a USA South Conference matchup against North Carolina Wesleyan University at the Slick Family Foundation Tennis Center. Facing a strong Battling Bishops squad, Meredith continued to compete with determination and gained valuable experience despite the final result.
In doubles play, Meredith fought through all three flights, with teams of Molly Zuburg and Cate Reilly, Zoe Jones and Coley Dyer, and Maya Kirstein and Jayla Kearney working to establish early momentum. While the Bishops secured the doubles point, Meredith showed steady effort and communication.
Singles play provided additional opportunities for growth, as the Avenging Angels competed across all six positions against an experienced NC Wesleyan lineup. Molly Zuburg and Coley Dyer led the way for Meredith, each earning multiple games in their matches and extending rallies throughout the afternoon. Across the lineup, Meredith remained engaged and resilient, continuing to compete point-by-point against a team that entered the match with double-digit wins on the season.
The Avenging Angels will return home next Tuesday to host USA South Conference opponent Southern Virginia, with first serve set for 2:30 p.m.
