RALEIGH, N.C. – The Avenging Angels were back in action at home Wednesday afternoon, meeting a strong Lynchburg University squad and competing with energy throughout the lineup.
Lynchburg secured the doubles point, but Meredith continued to battle across all three pairings. The duo of Cate Reilly and Molly Zuburg took on the Hornets' top team, while Coley Dyer and Jayla Kearney showed resilience at No. 2 doubles, extending points and staying competitive. Emme Baber and Jeallen Holland rounded out doubles play with consistent effort at the No. 3 position.
In singles action, Meredith continued to compete point-by-point against a deep Lynchburg lineup. Reilly led off at No. 1 singles, facing a tough opponent, while Zuburg at No. 2 and Dyer at No. 3 each worked through long rallies and challenging sets. Kearney highlighted the middle of the lineup at No. 4 singles, continuing to show growth and composure, while Baber and Holland competed at Nos. 5 and 6, respectively, each fighting through extended games.
Despite the final score, the Avenging Angels displayed persistence across the board, with several tightly contested points and continued progress against a seasoned non-conference opponent.
