Rayna Pepin brings extensive playing, coaching, and leadership experience to the Meredith College flag football program, with more than a decade of involvement in flag and tackle football at the youth, high school, collegiate, adult, and semi-professional levels.
Pepin’s football background is highlighted by significant experience at quarterback, giving her a strong understanding of offensive strategy, defensive recognition, play development, and in-game decision-making. She played quarterback for Fayetteville State University’s women’s flag football team in 2025 and has competed with several women’s flag and tackle football programs throughout her career. Her playing experience also includes time at wide receiver, running back, defensive end, and safety, providing her with a broad understanding of the game on both sides of the ball.
Her coaching experience includes serving as head coach of the Next Level 18U Girls Travel Flag Football program, assistant offensive coach for Knightdale High School’s girls varsity flag football team, and head coach of the Carolina Legends and Okinawa Legends women’s flag football programs. Throughout those roles, Pepin has been involved in offensive development, quarterback training, practice planning, film study, game strategy, and player development.
Beyond her knowledge of the game, Pepin brings a leadership background shaped by her service in both the United States Marine Corps and United States Army. She completed multiple military leadership programs as an honor graduate and has received numerous commendations and achievement awards during her service. That experience has helped shape a leadership philosophy centered on discipline, accountability, resilience, communication, and service to others.
Pepin is passionate about growing women’s flag football and developing student-athletes both on and off the field. Her coaching approach emphasizes strong relationships, competitive standards, confidence, and creating a team culture built on respect, trust, and accountability.
Pepin earned her bachelor’s degree in Health Psychology from Fayetteville State University and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Psychology at Fayetteville State.
