    The visiting Pfeiffer Falcons earned a 58-48 win over Meredith College in Wednesday night's USA South Conference women's basketball opener. Kimberly Schuh led the Avenging Angels with 12 points, adding seven rebounds.

    As part of the USA South's Cans Across the Conference competition, the Meredith College Avenging Angels collected 1,150 non-perishable food items and donated to the Raleigh Rescue Mission. With 18 member institutions, the league presented 69,387 items to local organizations across the wide footprint of the conference.

    Meredith College freshman Kate Perko swept the USA South women's basketball weekly honors as announced Monday from the conference office. She was named both the Player and Rookie of the Week for her performance in MCBB's only game last week, a win over Christopher Newport.

    The visiting Piedmont International University Bruins scored a last second layup to hold off a 19-point comeback by Meredith College in Monday night's non-conference women's basketball action. Kate Perko led the game with 23 points and Madison Gladwell tallied seven assists in the loss.

    The Meredith College basketball Angels ended a longstanding streak versus the Christopher Newport Captains with a 69-66 victory in Saturday's non-conference action. The win marks the first for the Avenging Angels in 15 meetings since the programs first met in 2000-01.

    A young but determined Meredith College basketball squad kept pace with the visiting Guilford Quakers in Wednesday night's home opener. Freshman Kate Perko led the Angels with 16 points, 12 rebounds, and Kimberly Schuh tallied nine points, nine boards.

    The Meredith College basketball team finished off the Randolph Wildcats 63-49 in Saturday's non-conference action. This win marks the first season opening victory for the Avenging Angels since 2013. Rookies Kate Perko and Lindsay Bell set the tone with a pair of double-doubles to launch their collegiate careers.
  • Meredith College to Add Two New Sports

    Meredith College has announced plans to add two new sports, bringing the Avenging Angels to ten sports. The most immediate addition shifts the two-year club golf program to varsity status beginning this fall. In Fall 2020, Meredith will add field hockey to the atheltics lineup.

    After securing a USA South Tournament bid in her first campaign last year as the Meredith College Head Basketball Coach, LaQuanda Quick will start this season with another small squad, including five new recruits. She and her assistant Whitney Coleman set out to improve the direction of Meredith basketball and will begin the 2019-20 campaign in Virginia.
