LAURINBURG, N.C. -- The Meredith College golf team wrapped up a two-round tournament at Scotch Meadows Country Club Monday afternoon hosted by St. Andrews University. Led by Allyson Nowell, who finished 18th overall, the Avenging Angels placed fourth on the par-72, 6,112-yard course.
Emma Brooks moved up the leader board Monday trimming seven strokes off her total from round-one. She trailed Leah Campbell, who placed second for the Angels and dropped three strokes in Monday's round. Jennifer Mackaman scored fourth for Meredith.
The Methodist Monarchs led the four-team women's lineup with Sandhills Community College and the Columbia Koalas next in line. The host's Lydia Randell led the field of 25 players, finishing 15 over par for the two days.
The Avenging Angels conclude the fall season next weekend at the Ursinus Revolutionary Classic at Chesapeake Bay Club in Rising Sun, Md.
