Biography

Prep: Played on High-school tennis team for three years (sophomore-senior), played on Seven Oaks club team for four years, received sportsmanship and most improved awards from coaches. Has played JTT and USTA tournaments.

High School: Claire attended and played for Sanderson. She graduated in 2021.

Why Meredith: "I chose Meredith for the smaller community and class sizes. I really liked that we are able to have close relationships with faculty and staff. I also love Meredith for its traditions as I am a third generation Meredith student."

Personal: Born on March 31, 2003... Daughter of Karen and Dewayne Southern... One brother, Matthew, freshman at NC State... One sister, Katherine, sophomore in high school... Claire plans to go to nursing school in the fall... She has been on Deans List every semester... Inducted into numerous honor societies... Psi Chi, Beta Beta Beta, Alpha Lambda Delta, and Chi Alpha Sigma
