Anita Ivanova joined Meredith head coach Garcian D’Cruz’s staff prior to the start of the 2025-26 campaign after competing collegiately at Lees-McRae College. 

Ivanova is a native of Sliven, Bulgaria and attended Hristo Botev Secondary School before heading to Banner Elk, N.C., to compete at Lees-McRae. 

In her freshman season, Ivanova garnered 11 singles wins, including her first-ever, which came against Elliott Peterson (Belmont Abbey) on March 19, 2022. Her season also included eight doubles triumphs, including a win alongside Laura Ocampo over 12th-ranked Wingate’s pair of Chloe Kosmrlj and Jadyn Kadynk on February 5, 2022. 

The following season 2022-23, as a sophomore, Ivanova grabbed five singles and seven doubles victories for the Bobcats. Among those wins were two against 42nd-ranked Mount Olive, including a singles victories over Liza Voloshyna (6-1, 6-2) and a doubles win with teammate Mei Hiramatsu against the tandem of Voloshyna and Nele Weber (7-6 (8-6)). 

As a senior, Ivanova finished with a 16-3 mark in singles action, where she competed as the No. 4 or No. 5 seed. She also captured nine victories in doubles play, including eight as the No. 1 seed alongside Pati Vedia Sanchez.
