Meredith College

Kim Scavone was named Director of Compliance and Senior Woman Administrator in July of 2026 while still serving as head coach of the Meredith College softball program, a role she has held since 2010. 

In her expanded role, Scavone oversees the department's NCAA Compliance efforts while serving as a critical resource for student athletes and coaches. 

Since joining Meredith in 2010, Scavone has helped establish the Avenging Angels softball program as one of the most competitive programs in the region. A former Boston College standout and Boston College Varsity Club Hall of Fame inductee, Scavone brings extensive collegiate, professional and coaching experience to her administrative role.

Under Scavone's leadership, Meredith softball has achieved sustained success, including multiple postseason appearances, conference accolades and program milestones. She guided the Avenging Angels to a program-best 28 wins in 2017 while earning USA South Coach of the Year honors, and led Meredith to three consecutive USA South Tournament final-round appearances from 2017-2019. Her student athletes have earned numerous All-Conference, All-Region and academic honors during her tenure.

The 2026 season marked another successful year for Meredith softball as Scavone guided the Avenging Angels to a historic 6-0 start in conference play, the first time in program history the team opened league competition with six consecutive victories. Pitcher Lillie Davis earned USA South Pitcher of the Year and NFCA All-Region honors, while five Meredith student-athletes received All-Conference recognition. Additionally, Scavone reached the 300-win mark during the season and was also inducted into the New York Suffolk County Sports Hall of Fame.

Prior to arriving at Meredith, Scavone served as an assistant coach at NCAA Division I Fordham University, helping the Rams capture an Atlantic 10 regular season championship and establish program records for wins, earned run average, shutouts, and strikeouts. She also competed and coached professionally in the Italian Federation Softball League, where she helped lead Giovane Porpetto to a league championship.

Scavone enjoyed a decorated playing career at Boston College from 2000-2003. A four-year starter and team captain, she earned Big East Rookie of the Year honors, Big East Pitcher of the Year honors, First Team All-Big East selections, and First Team Regional All-American recognition. She remains one of the most accomplished pitchers in Boston College history and earned induction into the Boston College Varsity Club Hall of Fame in 2014.

Scavone earned a Bachelor of Arts in English from Boston College.
