Chambersburg, Pa. - The Meredith Field Hockey program dropped a tough road contest at Wilson College 7-2 Saturday afternoon at the Wilson Hockey Field.
Wilson jumped out to a 3-0 advantage in the first period of play on the Angels.Â
Meredith got on the board in the second quarter when sophomore
Jordan Brooks found the back of the net off an assist from freshmanÂ
Megan Ingenito. Those two connected on a goal yesterday as well.Â
Wilson headed to the halftime break with a 5-1 lead. Meredith held Wilson scoreless in the third while also picking up another goal from sophomore standoutÂ
Sierra Grande.
Meredith earned four penalty corner chances compared to Wilsons 10.
"I'm proud of how we handled the conditions today and stuck to our game plan," head coach
Colleen Cassada said. "Unfortunately playing on grass in pouring rain is not ideal for our sport, but you do what you can. I'm just glad we scored three goals and walked away without any injuries this weekend."
The Angels are back in action on Oct. 19th when they hostÂ
Eastern Mennonite at 5 p.m.
