Fayetteville, N.C. - The Meredith volleyball program extended its win streak to 10 games with a 3-2 victory over Methodist University Thursday night inside the Riddle Center.
The Angels (20-6, 14-2 USA South) dropped the first two sets to Methodist (15-8, 10-6 USA South) before crawling all the way back to force a fifth set. The Monarchs scored first in the fifth set and never led again as Meredith took the set and match 15-8.
Sophomore
Lillie Davis tallied a double-double with 46 assists and 16 digs while also earning five kills and five service aces. The Angels totaled 12 aces compared to the Monarchs five. Meredith also had 12 total blocks to just five for Methodist.Â
Freshman
Caitlyn Russell and senior
Lauren Bissette led the attack combining for 35 kills while junior
Emma Duncan added nine with three services aces.Â
Defensively, senior
Hannah Jo Jablonski earned 25 digs and sophomore
Alexa House picked up 14.
After two big USA South wins for the Angels this week, they have the weekend off before heading to Mary Baldwin next Wednesday at 7 p.m.
