BREVARD, N.C. - The Meredith Soccer Programs 2023 season came to an end at Brevard College Tuesday afternoon in the first round of the USA South Conference Tournament. The Angels fell short in penalty kicks 4-2 after the game ended in a 0-0 draw on Ives-Lemel Family Field.
A scoreless game only saw nine total shots from both teams on frame. Meredith had six shots in the first half compared to the Tornados seven.
The second half favored more for the Tornados as graduate senior
Audrey Taylor picked up her second yellow card of the game and was sent off with a red. From the 63rd minute on the Angels played a man down.
Each team produced corner kicks in extra time but were never able to connect to find a winner.

Rachel Ward all tallied shots on goal.

Haley Vazquez and
Kendall Carroll both found the back of the net to start the penalty kick shootout but the Angels came up short down the stretch.
Meredith finishes the year 4-5-6 and 3-3-3 in USA South play improving their winning percentage in conference from .167 last season to .500 this season.
