RALEIGH, N.C. - The Meredith volleyball program punched their ticket to the USA South Title game with a clean sweep over Salem College Thursday night inisde Weatherspoon Gymnasium.
The No. 1 seed Meredith fell down 10-5 against the No. 5 seed Salem early in the first set. The Angels stormed back to take a close first set 25-23. Meredith found their groove taking the next two sets 25-13 and 25-18.
Offensively, the Angels had a balanced attack led by senior
Lauren Bissette who tallied 12 kills and two blocks. Freshman
Caitlyn Russell and junior
Sara Dees both added eight kills while Dees added 12 kills.
Sophomore setter
Lillie Davis ran the show earning a double-double with 31 assists and 10 digs while also adding five kills and one and a half blocks. Defensively
Hannah Jo Jablonski racked up 36 digs.
The Avenging Angels will look to grab the program's third tournament title (first since 2018) against Greensboro College Saturday at 1 p.m.
