RALEIGH, N.C. - The Meredith basketball program fell 60-35 against Eastern Mennonite University Sunday afternoon inside Weatherspoon Gymnasium.
A low scoring first half saw the first quarter end 9-7 in favor of EMU. At the halftime break the Angels only trailed by four, 23-19.
EMU turned it up a notch a out scored Meredith 22-4 in the third to secure the victory. Neither team shot higher then 40 percent for the game.
The Angels were led by the freshman trio of
Paris Bethea,
Marlee Beam, and
Skyler Wade. Bethea led the Angels offense with seven points while also grabbing six rebounds. Beam tallied six points and five rebounds while Wade had five points and six rebounds.
Meredith is back in action after Christmas when they host old conference foe Averett University on Dec. 28th at 4 p.m.
