RALEIGH, N.C. - The Meredith volleyball program fended off Brevard College 3-1 Saturday afternoon inside Weatherspoon Gymnasium.
After dropping a tight first set 28-26, the Angels stormed back to take the three sets and the match. Meredith held the Tornados to just a .052 hitting percentage on the afternoon.
Junior
Emma Duncan led the Angel offense with 13 kills while senior
Lauren Bissette added nine with three blocks. The wealth was spread around as junior
Mac Stafford and freshman
Caitlyn Russell added eight kills each.
Sophomore
Lillie Davis earned a double-double with 22 assists and 11 digs while her partner in crime, freshman
Maggie Gibbons, tallied 17 assists and eight digs.
Defensively, senior
Hannah Jo Jablonski and freshman
Megan Murray had 18 digs each.
The Angels improve to 10-5 and 4-1 in USA South action. They will travel to USA South foe William Peace on Tuesday for a 7 p.m. start.
