FERRUM, Va. - The Meredith Field Hockey program traveled to Ferrum College Wednesday night and fell 1-0 in a hard fought battle.
Ferrum found the back of the net and the 1-0 lead just a few minutes into the second period of action. The Angels out played the Panthers in every facit of the game but were just not able to capitalize.
Meredith out shot Ferrum 14-9 and also had three more penalty corners.
"It's a hard loss when you dominated the game but just couldn't score," head coach
Colleen Cassada said. "Ferrum's goalie showed tonight why she is the No. 2 goalie in the ODAC. We have a long break to make some adjustments and hopefully come out stronger against Sewanee"
The freshman duo of
Megan Ingenito and
Charlotte Dyer led the Angels with six total shots on goal while junior
Shae-Lynn Henderson tallied three saves.
Meredith is back in action at home, Oct. 7th at 11 a.m. when they host Sewanee.
