BUENA VISTA, VA – The Meredith College volleyball team's 2024 season came to a close this week as the Avenging Angels were defeated by Southern Virginia University in the semifinals of the USA South Conference Tournament. The top-seeded Knights triumphed 3-0 in a hard-fought match, ending Meredith's tournament run.
The semifinal match against SVU, who entered the postseason as the No. 1 seed, was a battle of skill and determination. The Knights were able to capitalize on key moments, securing a 25-18, 25-13, and 25-8 victory over the Avenging Angels.
The Avenging Angels can reflect on a season marked by growth, resilience, and accomplishment. Meredith wrapped up the year with a strong 16-12 overall record and a 10-8 conference mark, setting a solid foundation for future success.
Although their 2024 campaign has concluded, the Avenging Angels will look ahead to the future with excitement. A strong core of players will return for the 2025 season, and the team remains focused on building on the foundation established this year.
