FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - The Meredith basketball program saw its 2023-24 season come to an end in the first round of the USA South Conference Tournament with a 55-43 loss at Methodist University Tuesday night inside the Riddle Center.
The No. 7 seed Angels started the game strong taking a 13-10 lead into the second quarter. The No. 2 overall seed Methodist found its stride in the second quarter out scoring Meredith 15-6 and taking a six-point lead into halftime. The Monarchs kept that momentum to pull away in the second half.
Sophomore
Rylie Wade earned a career-high 16 rebounds while also adding six points. Senior
De'ja Morgan concluded her Meredith career with a double-double scoring 14 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. Senior
Piper Carriere scored a game-high 15 points.
Meredith finished the season 8-18 and 6-12 in USA South play. Â
