RALEIGH, N.C. - The Meredith tennis program outlasted cross-town rival William Peace University 6-3 Tuesday afternoon in the 2024 spring finale.
The Angels took two of the three doubles matches to start the afternoon. The Ellie duo of freshman
Ellie Phillips and junior
Ellie Osborne picked up an 8-3 win in the No. 2 doubles slot while senior
Hannah Jo Jablonski and sophomore
Anna Bittler rolled to an 8-1 win at No. 3 doubles.
Meredith took their four singles wins all in straight sets. Fifth-year
Hannah Higgins, Jo Jablonski, Bittler, and freshman
Zoe Jones picked up the wins in singles.
"Proud of the way the girls ended the season on a two-match win streak," head coach
Eric Douglass said. "Now we wait to see who we get in the conference tournament and get after it next week. Let's go Angels!"
Meredith will travel for the first round of the USA South Tournament with seedings still to be set.
