NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - The Meredith lacrosse team fell 19-5 against Catholic Saturday afternoon in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament inside Jennings stadium. 

The Angels trailed 4-2 at the end of the first and only trailed 8-4 at halftime. Catholic opened up their lead in the third quarter after outscoring Meredith 6-0.

Meredith tallied eight shots on goal compared to Catholic earning 30. 

Freshman Kenzie Todd and Bailey Swails both scored along with junior Ava Spradley. Sophomore Reese Walker and junior Lauryn Turner scored a goal while adding an assist each. 

Senior Madeline Horrell racked up 11 saves in goal from the Angels. 

Meredith finished 14-7 on the year winning their 10th straight USA South Tournament Title giving them another NCAA bid.
