Soccer Secures 3-1 Victory Over Averett University

Raleigh, NC – The Meredith College Avenging Angels displayed an impressive blend of offensive firepower and defensive resilience in their 3-1 victory over the Averett University Cougars on Wednesday night. The win, marked by early goals and a commanding team effort, solidified the Avenging Angels' strong start to the season.

Meredith wasted no time, with Audrey Taylor finding the back of the net just 1:14 into the match. Assisted by Kate Conoley, Taylor's goal set the tone for the Avenging Angels' aggressive play. At the 14:46 mark, Kate Conoley doubled the lead, this time off an assist from Rebecca Morrison.

Meredith extended their advantage at the 39:07 mark when a third goal was scored, giving them a 3-0 lead. Averett responded just before halftime with a goal cutting the lead to 3-1.

Despite the flurry of goals in the first half, the second half saw both teams' defenses lock down. Khaliah Jones and Samantha Woodfin split time in goal for Meredith, combining for 4 crucial saves to preserve the lead.
