MEREDITH OFFENSE GETS SHUT OUT FOR THE FIRST TIME THIS YEAR

Meredith Offense Gets Shut Out for the First Time This Year

Virginia Beach, Va. - The Avenging Angels packed their bags once more to compete against the Virginia Wesleyan Marlins on Wednesday, September 18th. The Marlins controlled the sixty
minutes of play, denying the Angels the opportunity to even the score.

How it Happened:
? The Marlins pressured the Angels from the jump, tallying shots and corners right away. Meredith held off Virginia Wesleyan for as long as they could before the Marlins found the back of the net six minutes into the period. Then with 15 seconds left on the clock, the Marlins shot again to enter the second leading the Angels 2-0.
? The Angels defense turned up the heat on the Marlins in the second quarter. Allowing only four shots in the 15 minutes of play, the lowest across the whole game. However, the Marlins were able to notch one goal, taking the lead 3-0 into halftime.
? The Marlins tallied two more goals in the third quarter. Denying Meredith any opportunity to shoot in the circle.
? Virginia Wesleyan put up one final goal in the final quarter of the match. Closing the game with a score of 0-6.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
Meredith has never broken through the Marlins defense; remaining scoreless in their matchup history. Shae-Lynn Henderson recorded 13 saves in the 60 minutes of play. For the first time in the 2024 campaign, the Angels offense was unable to get on the board.
