Sewanee, TN – Meredith College field hockey faced Sewanee on Monday afternoon, where the Avenging Angels found the back of the cage once but fell 8–1 against a strong Tiger offense. Charlotte Dyer netted Meredith's lone goal of the game, assisted by Megan Ingenito.

How It Happened

Sewanee came out with a fast start, scoring three goals in the opening period to gain early control. Meredith was limited offensively, unable to record a shot but held strong under pressure defensively. The angles ended the first period 0-3.

Meredith began finding rhythm, taking three shots and earning two penalty corners in the quarter. The Angels' pressure tested Sewanee's back line, with Dyer and Sophia Frez both placing shots on the board. Meredith headed into halftime 0-4.

The Angels broke through midway through the third period. Dyer connected off a pass from Ingenito to put Meredith on the board. Molly Click added two more saves in the frame, keeping the game within reach as the Angels matched Sewanee's intensity on both ends of the field.

Despite a strong defensive effort by Meredith, the Tigers added three final goals to close out the contest. Meredith was held without a shot in the fourth but continued to show grit and energy through the final whistle.

The Avenging Angels' goalkeeping tandem of Jasmin Solar and Molly Click combined for 13 saves against 30 total shots from Sewanee. Dyer led the offense with her second-half goal, assisted by Ingenito.
