How It Happened

Set 1 — Greensboro 25, Meredith 17

Meredith opened the match with composed swings from Caitlyn Russell and Daven Brabble, keeping the Pride within reach through the early points. Strong defensive efforts from libero Megan Murray and steady serve-receive from Lillie Davis helped the Angels weather several Greensboro runs. Despite a late push, the Pride's offensive efficiency gave them the edge in the opening set.

Set 2 — Greensboro 25, Meredith 13

The Pride found momentum in the second frame, but Meredith continued to battle behind contributions from Russell and Reagan Kresho at the net. The Angels worked to close the gap, but Greensboro pulled away late to take a 2–0 match lead.

Set 3 — Greensboro 25, Meredith 22

Meredith saved its best volleyball for the third set, showcasing heart and resilience in a near comeback. Trailing late, the Angels sparked a four-point run fueled by aggressive swings from Russell and Brabble, key defensive stops from Davis, and focused serving. Meredith closed the gap to 20–21 before a controversial point call, giving Greensboro a 22–20 advantage and shifted momentum. Despite the setback, the Angels continued to fight, pushing the Pride to the wire before narrowly falling 25–22.
