Avenging Angels Show Growth in Home Battle Against SVU

Raleigh, N.C. — November 22, 2025 — The Meredith College Avenging Angels hosted Southern Virginia University in a USA South Conference matchup on Saturday afternoon inside Weatherspoon Gymnasium. With a strong start and several standout individual efforts, Meredith continued to show growth and resilience throughout the afternoon. While the game ultimately went to the visiting Knights, the Avenging Angels demonstrated clear progress as they move forward in USA South play.

GAME SUMMARY

Meredith opened the game with energy and execution, outscoring Southern Virginia 14–9 in the first quarter. The Knights responded with a decisive second period, using a 27–7 run to swing momentum and take control of the contest heading into halftime. The Avenging Angels worked to regain rhythm in the second half, but SVU maintained its advantage with a 23–12 third quarter. Meredith closed the game with a strong final period, winning the fourth 18–15, but the early deficit proved too steep to overcome.
