RALEIGH, N.C. | Meredith Tennis battled hard but fell 7-0 to Piedmont on Friday. The Avenging Angels won three games in doubles, but lost the doubles point. Claire Southern, Hannah Jo Jablonski, and Anna Bittler all won at least three games in their singles matches.

INSIDE THE MATCH:

• Piedmont started strong and won all three doubles matches to earn the doubles point.
• Claire Southern lost a hard-fought singles match (6-1, 6-4) to Piedmonts Brooklyn Bolch.
• Hannah Jo Jablonski and Anna Bittler clawed back to each take three games in their #4 and #5 singles matches.
• Freshmen Cate Reilly and Kate Jackson each won a game in their second collegiate match. Jackson picked up a game in the first set and two in the second set of her singles match.
• Senior Ellie Osborne competed in #1 singles against Alyssa McSpadden. Osborne won a game in set one, but McSpadden took the match 6-1, 6-0.
