BALTIMORE, Md. – The Meredith field hockey team completed its two-day stint in Baltimore, Md., with a split after suffering a 2-0 setback to McDaniel on Sunday afternoon.
The Avenging Angels (2-1) trailed 1-0 at the intermission after Charley Noah scored the first goal of the game, following a pass from Kelsey Jennings, at the 25:30 mark.
McDaniel's Samira Morgan singlehandedly scored the second goal of the contest just over nine minutes later in the third quarter.
McDaniel finished off the contest with 34 shots, including 14 shots on goal, while Meredith countered with two shots, both on goal. Dyer led the way for McDaniel with 14 shots (three SOG), while
Cambria Chandler closed with six shots (three SOG) for the Green Terror. Meanwhile,
Charlotte Dyer and
Maya Kirstein each had one shot and one shot on goal for Meredith.
Lora Scarangello picked up the win in net for McDaniel, making two saves along the way.
Jasmin Solar converted 11 saves for the Avenging Angels in net.
Both Meredith shots came in the first half, while the Green Terror had 10 each in the third and fourth quarters.
