FREDERICKSBURG, Va. - Meredith field hockey took to the road on Wednesday night and fell by an 8-2 margin at the hands of a tough Mary Washington team in Fredericksburg, Virginia.

The Eagles scored seven of their eight goals in a strong first half that saw the Avenging Angels score once, as Megan Ingenito converted off a feed from freshman Hannah Symonds.

The Avenging Angels found a goal in the second half as well, with Marissa Tilgner converting off a rebound in the 53rd minute.

Meredith goalkeeper Lyla Burdine made a season-best 17 saves.

Up next, the Avenging Angels will play another road game, taking on Wittenberg this Sunday, October 18 at 11 a.m.
