Building Toward the Championship
Meredith has steadily built momentum throughout the indoor season, highlighted by school records, personal bests, and strong team finishes at the VMI Winter Classic and Liberty Open.
At VMI, the Angels placed fourth overall, breaking three school records and recording 18 personal bests. Avery McMillan reset the 60-meter hurdles record, Bryanna Herring delivered a school-record mark of 16.30 meters in the weight throw, and Athena Mowatt set a new indoor record in the shot put.
On the track, Delaney Bundy has emerged as a key distance threat in the mile and 5,000 meters, while Juana Silva Jimenez, Carly O'Toole, and Abigail Davis have added valuable depth. In the sprints, Abrianna Casarez and Abigail Clayton continue to lead a strong 200- and 400-meter group.
At Liberty, additional records fell as McMillan lowered her hurdles mark again, Jane Grey Zechini set a new indoor pole vault record, and Herring surpassed her own weight throw record.
With consistent improvement across sprints, distance, relays, and field events, the Avenging Angels enter championship week battle-tested and confident as they prepare to compete at JDL Fast Track.
