MISENHEIMER, N.C. – Meredith tennis competed in USA South action on the road Thursday afternoon, falling 7-0 to Pfeiffer University at the Knapp Tennis Center. Despite the final score, Meredith continued to gain valuable experience against a strong Falcons squad early in conference play.
Match Highlights
Pfeiffer secured the early advantage by sweeping all four doubles positions to take control of the match heading into singles play. Meredith's pairs of Cate Reilly and Molly Zuburg at No. 1 doubles, along with Emme Baber and Jeallen Holland at No. 4, battled throughout their matches against a deep Falcons lineup.
In singles, the Avenging Angels continued to compete across all courts. Zuburg highlighted the effort at No. 4 singles, pushing her match deep into the second set before falling 6-2, 7-5 in one of the most competitive contests of the day. Meredith also saw action across an expanded singles lineup, gaining additional match experience in the later positions.
