RALEIGH, NC. – The Meredith College tennis team battled throughout the lineup but ultimately fell to Columbia College in non-conference action at home. The Avenging Angels showed resilience in several matches, highlighted by a dramatic comeback effort in singles play.

Meredith competed closely across both doubles and singles play but could not overcome Columbia College's depth. Several matches extended deep into deciding sets as the Angels continued to fight for points late in the contest.
The most thrilling moment of the match came during a tightly contested singles battle featuring Meredith's Molly Zuburg. After falling behind 7–1 in the decisive 10-point third-set tiebreaker, Zuburg mounted an incredible rally. She stormed back point by point to take a 12–11 lead, earning a match point and putting herself on the verge of completing the comeback. Despite the surge, Columbia College narrowly held on to claim the tiebreaker 14–12 in one of the most dramatic moments of the day.
