RALEIGH, NC. - The Meredith College indoor track and field team made history by recognizing 14 athletes with USA South Athletic Conference postseason honors following their performances at the conference indoor championship meet.
Leading the way for the Avenging Angels was Delaney Bundy, who earned First Team All-Conference honors in the 5,000 meters after capturing the conference title with a time of 17:33.63. Bundy also added a Second Team All-Conference selection in the 3,000 meters, finishing second with a time of 10:12.75, making her one of Meredith's top performers during the meet.
In the field events, Bryanna Herring earned First Team All-Conference honors in the weight throw with a winning mark of 16.73 meters, securing a conference championship performance for Meredith.
The Avenging Angels also earned recognition in the sprint relay events. The 4x400 meter relay team of Natasha Elder, Carly O'Toole, Abrianna Casarez, and Abigail Clayton collected Second Team All-Conference honors with a second-place finish and a time of 4:08.32.
Clayton also received an individual accolade, earning Third Team All-Conference honors in the 400 meters with a third-place finish in 58.70 seconds.
In the distance events, Juana Silva Jimenez earned Third Team All-Conference recognition in the 5,000 meters after finishing third with a time of 18:09.67.
Meredith also received Third Team All-Conference honors in the distance medley relay, where Laura Brown, Emma Jolliff, Kaia Ramsey, and Carly O'Toole combined for a third-place finish with a time of 13:43.74.
In addition to the All-Conference selections, Abigail Davis was recognized with the USA South All-Sportsmanship Award for indoor track and field. The honor is given to a student-athlete from each institution who best exemplifies the ideals of sportsmanship, integrity, and respect both in competition and within the conference.
