Walker Shines on Senior Day in 24-1 Victory

On a special Senior Day afternoon, Meredith College lacrosse delivered a commanding 24-1 victory over Huntingdon at home to remain unbeaten in conference play. The  Avenging Angels honored their lone senior, Reese Walker, prior to the game, and she delivered a standout performance to lead Meredith to another dominant USA South win.

Game Highlights

Meredith wasted no time setting the tone, erupting for 12 goals in the opening quarter and taking full control early. The Avenging Angels continued their offensive surge with seven goals in the second quarter and added five more in the third to seal the decisive victory.

The Angels dominated every phase of play, outshooting Huntingdon 37-4 and holding a 30-4 advantage in shots on goal. Meredith controlled possession throughout, winning the draw battle 22-5 and forcing 19 turnovers while committing just four.

Defensively, Meredith was equally impressive, holding Huntingdon scoreless in three of the four quarters. Goalkeeper Delaney Posehn anchored the effort with three saves, allowing just one goal across the full 60 minutes.

Meredith also excelled in transition, going a perfect 9-for-9 on clears and winning the ground ball battle 26-14.

Meredith returns to action at home on Wednesday, April 15, hosting USA South Conference opponent Pfeiffer University. Opening draw is set for 7:00 p.m. as the Avenging Angels look to continue their strong run in conference play.
