FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – A competitive road test against a strong conference opponent gave the Avenging Angels valuable experience Saturday, as Meredith faced Methodist University in USA South action.
After a challenging start in doubles play, Meredith showed growth and resilience in singles, settling into the match and competing with greater confidence as the afternoon progressed. The Angels continued to extend rallies and make adjustments across the lineup against a deep and experienced Methodist squad. Highlighting the effort was a standout performance from Molly Zuburg at No. 2 singles. Zuburg elevated her level throughout the match, responding after the opening set to push the second into a tightly contested tiebreak and showcasing her competitiveness against a top opponent.
Jayla Kearney also turned in a strong performance at the No. 5 position, competing with composure and forcing extended points while continuing to show growth and confidence in her game. At the top of the lineup, Cate Reilly gained valuable experience at No. 1 singles, facing one of the conference's top players and continuing to develop against high-level competition.
Meredith returns home on Wednesday, April 15th to host University of Lynchburg with first serve set for 1:00 p.m.
