RALEIGH, N.C. — Meredith College Athletics is proud to announce the inaugural class of The Angel Standard, a new student athlete leadership and culture initiative bringing together a select group of Avenging Angels committed to shaping the future of Meredith Athletics.
The Angel Standard was created for student athletes who are ready to go beyond traditional leadership and take an active role in building championship-level culture across the department. Throughout the year, members will explore the values, standards, habits and courageous leadership behaviors that influence successful teams while working together to strengthen a shared identity across Meredith Athletics.
"Different teams. One department. A standard you can see." will serve as the foundation for the program's inaugural year.
"I believe our student-athletes should have a real voice and real ownership in the culture we are building at Meredith," said Assistant AD / Head Lacrosse Coach Lauren Scott, who developed and will lead the initiative. "The Angel Standard is about more than being a good leader on your own team. We are challenging this group to think bigger and to learn from one another. We want them to bring those lessons back to their teams and help define what it means to be an Avenging Angel. Culture is ultimately what drives sustained success, and I'm incredibly excited to work with this inaugural group and see the impact they can have on our department."
