HARRISONBURG, Va. - Meredith golf concluded its first full field event of the fall season on Tuesday afternoon, finishing in a tie for eighth at the Bridgewater Invitational.

Natalie Stroud led the Avenging Angels for the week, highlighted by making a pair of birdies during her final round of 88. Both of Stroud's birdies in the final round came on par-5's as she made 4 on the par-5 second hole and the par-5 14th.

With four players competing, the Avenging Angels had all four athletes' scores count on both days. However, the final round saw notable improvement, as the team bettered its score by nearly 30 shots.

It was a consistent performance all around, with Laura Lea Allen and Martina Diodato each carding rounds of 91 in support of Stroud's team-leading 88.

All four Avenging Angels equaled or improved upon their score from the first round to the final round. Allen remained rock solid with back-to-back rounds of 91.

The USA South's Southern Virginia took home the team title, narrowly defeating Marymount (Va.) by two strokes.

Up next, Meredith will take part in the Anita Hobson Invitational, beginning next Monday, September 28 in Portsmouth, Virginia.
