Lauren Scott has led Meredith College women's lacrosse since the program's inaugural season in 2012, building the Avenging Angels into one of the premier NCAA Division III programs in the South. Entering her 15th season at the helm, Scott has compiled a 193-70 career record while guiding Meredith to 21 conference championships, including 12 consecutive conference tournament titles and nine regular season championships. Her student-athletes have earned 11 Conference Player of the Year awards, seven Rookie of the Year nods and Scott herself has been recognized as Conference Coach of the Year eight times.

The 2026 season added another outstanding chapter to Scott's career. Meredith finished among the nation's elite, leading NCAA Division III in scoring offense (18.18 goals per game) and scoring margin while ranking fifth nationally in scoring defense. The Avenging Angels also finished third nationally in points per game. Individually, Reese Walker earned USA Lacrosse All-America honors after leading the nation with 86 assists and 159 points, while teammate Kenzie Todd was also named a USA Lacrosse All-American after finishing second nationally in both goals (94) and points (142). Bailey Swails ranked fourth nationally in shooting percentage (.642).

Scott has consistently guided Meredith to national success throughout her tenure. The Avenging Angels led NCAA Division III in scoring offense for the first time during the 2016 season before finishing as the nation's leader in shot percentage in 2019. In 2018, Meredith earned the program's first NCAA Tournament victory with a win over the United States Merchant Marine Academy.

On March 8, 2020, Scott earned her 100th career victory at Meredith, becoming the first coach in program history to reach the milestone. Under her leadership, Meredith has established itself as a perennial conference contender while developing numerous All-conference, All-region and All-America student-athletes. Since the program's inception, Scott's players have totaled over 100 USA South All-Conference selections.

Prior to arriving at Meredith, Scott spent eight seasons as the head girls' lacrosse coach at Danbury High School in Connecticut. She transformed the Hatters into a state championship program, guiding the team from a 2-14 record in 2003 to the Connecticut Division II State Championship in 2008. Along the way she earned Connecticut Class L Coach of the Year, Connecticut Division II Coach of the Year, FCIAC Coach of the Year, and Newstimes Coach of the Year honors. She also received official recognition from the Connecticut General Assembly and Connecticut Governor Jodi Rell for her leadership and contributions to the program.

Scott also served as a Connecticut Lighting premier coach, volunteered as an assistant coach at her alma mater, Western Connecticut State University, and spent seven years as the girls' director for Nutmeg Sports West. She also founded and directed Community Lacrosse, a youth development program serving the greater Danbury area.

As a student-athlete at Western Connecticut State, Scott was a four-year letterwinner who established herself among the most accomplished players in program history. She set school records for scoring, points, ground balls, and caused turnovers while earning three all-conference selections and twice being named Little East Conference Player of the Week. She still holds the school record for points in a season with 64 in 2003.

Scott earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Western Connecticut State University. She also holds a teaching certificate and a minor in Exercise Science from Southern Connecticut State University.
