Volleyball Gains Split in USA South Play

Raleigh, N.C. - The Meredith volleyball team traveled across town to play in a USA South quad match at Peace College.  The Avenging Angels split on the day losing to Christopher Newport 3-0 and defeating Ferrum 3-0.

Chris. Newport 3, Meredith 0 - Meredith faced #5 nationally ranked CNU to start the day, losing in three straight sets 25-17, 25-11, 25-15.  The Avenging Angels were led by Cori Spade with seven kills while Mallory Booker had six kills and 12 digs.  

Meredith 3, Ferrum 0 - The Avenging Angels (14-14, 7-8 USA South) bounced back with a dominating win over the Panthers 25-7, 25-12, 25-16. Meredith was led on offensive by Spade with nine kills.  MaryBeth Finegan led the team on defensive with 17 digs.

Meredith next hosts Peace on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
