Box Score Raleigh, N.C. - The Meredith volleyball team concluded their home schedule as they hosted Peace College on Wednesday night. The Pacers took the match in five sets avenging their earlier five set loss to the Angels earlier in the season. Senior Mallory Booker was honored prior to the match.
Meredith (14-15, 7-9 USA South) took the first set 25-20, then Peace (13-15, 7-9) stormed back to take the advantage with 25-18, 25-14 wins in the second and third sets. Meredith tied things up in the fourth with a 25-22 victory. Then the Pacers took control of the fifth set from the beginning and sealed the match win with a 15-4 difference.
The Avenging Angels were led on offense by Leanne Burton with 14 kills and 12 assists while Cori Spade put down 11 kills and four service aces of her own. Clarke Glendenning was the assist leader for the Angels with 19 to go with her seven digs and three service aces. MaryBeth Finegan led Meredith in digs with 13 and Booker added eight.
Meredith finishes the regular season on the road, heading to Shenandoah to take on the host Hornets and the Greensboro Pride. Game times are noon and 2 p.m.
