Box Score Raleigh, N.C. - The Meredith volleyball team swept USA South
rival Methodist in three sets on Wednesday night. The Avenging
Angels (8-5, 3-3 USA South) defeated the Monarchs (6-7, 2-4) with
scores of 25-19, 30-28, 25-20.
Meredith played tough the entire match, outlasting the Monarchs in
game one then going to a wild second set that ended on a service
ace from MaryBeth Finegan. Set three saw Meredith lead the entire
set and complete the three set sweep of Methodist.
The Avenging Angels were led by Cori Spade with 11 kills. Mallory Booker added nine kills and nine digs, while Rebecca Yow had five
kills and two block assists.
Meredith next travels to Greensboro on Saturday to take on
Shenandoah and the host Pride at 2 and 4 p.m.
