Volleyball Splits in Greensboro

Greensboro. N.C. – The Meredith volleyball (9-6, 4-4 USA South) split in their USA South tri-match in Greensboro. The Avenging Angels won the first match against Shenandoah (8-5, 2-4) 3-2, while dropping the last match to host Greensboro (14-4, 7-1) 3-0.

Meredith 3, Shenandoah 2 (25-14, 25-19, 20-25, 21-25, 15-11) – Meredith took the quick 2-0 set advantage only to see Shenandoah storm back to tie things up heading into a fifth set. The Avenging Angels pulled out the win in five with a 15-11 victory. Meredith was led by Cori Spade with 15 kills and two block assists. Leanne Burton was strong with 14 kills, 24 assists and 13 digs.

Greensboro 3, Meredith 0 (25-19, 25-7, 25-17) - The Avenging Angels could not get things going as they were swept by Greensboro College. Caroline Cobb was Meredith's top hitter with six kills.

Meredith next travels across town on Tuesday to take on rival Peace College at 7 p.m.
